A beginner level class, Wax Carving will serve as one of the basic foundations for all your future Jewelry and metalsmithing creations.

You will learn to navigate a professional jewelry studio including all the tools and equipment involved in making a piece of jewelry from concept to creation.

You will use a variety of special Jewelers’ wax and tools to make “mini-sculptures”, in the form of pendants, rings, ect, and learn the art of the “Lost Wax” casting process. You will then have the opportunity to professionally cast your piece/ pieces in the metal of your choice (925 Silver, Fine silver, Brass, Bronze, Gold, Platinum)

1. Learnn to transfer your design to wax
2. Learn to cutout and carve your piece using a combination of piercing, sawing, additive and subtractive techniques utilizing the jewelers saw, flex shaft and Burs, wax pens files, etc.
3. Learn fine jewelry finishing techniques
4. Learn the art of polishing

By the end of class you will walk away with a finished piece of jewelry (or 2) and leave confident in your ability to navigate any jewelry studio.

4 Weeks: 1 4 Hour Session per week (16 HRS CLASS)

Studio Wax Supplies Included, Casting and Molds are separate and at student discretion.
